Its Never A Good Idea To Shoot Yourself In The Foot. posted on 12/03/2008

With all the potential of the Cardinals right now it seems that very little focus is given to the little things that allow this team to sit atop the division in the west.  For starters the benching of a marque player to win games, though unheard of in today's market, was the foundation for which this team has built a solid passing game.  Of course Kurt Warner would not be up for a possible MVP nomination if it were not for the two best receivers in the west.  But for myself Anquan Kenmile Boldin has proven to me that he is the real deal.  Stats aside, his drive to return to the game of football after a career ending hit proves that his heart is still in the game.

My only fear is that the pass game alone will not have the strength to carry the meek NFC west throughout the playoffs.  Hightower and secondary efforts are going to have to average more then two or three yards a carry.  In fact, its time that this much improved running game of Arizona step up and take charge down the field.  Open up the secondary for some play-action and even more affective of late, the draw play.  Keep the backs on their toes and the defenders on their heels and you will improve those numbers.  Of course there should be three wins in these last for games that will make a statement heading into the post season.   Combine that with a strong showing against the Vikings to prove that this is the year that a new Phoenix has risen in the desert.
