Arizona Cardinals Lead NFC Division
Kurt Warner Perfect QB Rating
Kurt Warner Perfect QB Rating
Sunday, September 14th, the Arizona Cardinals crush the Miami Dolphins (31-10), in front of a sold-out crowd at the University of Phoenix Stadium. The Cards have won their last two games and sit atop the NFC Division with 2 wins and no losses. Along with this victory, the Cardinals have their best start since 1991. Wait a minute...this is the Az. Cardinals we're talking about, right?
Oh, yes it is! The Arizona Cardinals are showing that they are a team, not only capable of winning, but with the ability to annihilate it's opponents. Who's next?
Kurt Warner (Cardinals QB) had an awesome game on Sunday. Warner had 19 of 24 receptions for 361 yards and 3 touchdowns, no interceptions. He, also, finished the day with a perfect (158.3) quarterback rating.
"When you have one of those days when everythings clicking and you feel like you can't be stopped, it brings back a lot of memories of those great years," Warner said.
Cardinals wide receivers, Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald, both had good games, as well. Fitzgerald had 6 receptions for 153 yards. Boldin recorded 6 receptions for 140 yards and 3 touchdowns. This marks the sixth time that both receivers topped 100 yards in the same game.
Edgerinn James (Cardinals runningback) was able to run for 55 yards on 8 carries. James is only the 14th player in the NFL to surpass 15,000 yards from scrimmage.
At 2-0, the Arizona Cardinals appear to be going in the right direction. Headcoach, Ken Whisenhunt, seems to be the right man for the job. Of course, the Cards have, yet, to face a winning team. The two victories they do have were "should wins". In other words, on paper, the Cardinals should have won these, two games. They did.
"We haven't played nobody," Edgerinne James said. "We've gotta keep doing it. A lot of teams are 2-0. Detroit was 6-2 last year."
The Cardinals biggest feat, so far, should be next weekend when they go on the road to the Capitol city to face the Washington Redskins. The Redskins, at 1-1, are looking very tough this year. This upcoming game should show the Cardinals a little more as to where they stand in the scheme of things. Go Cards!!!
